Mr. Ashfaq is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, fully licensed to practice and is on the GMC’s Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery. He is one of the few surgeons in UK to be trained in USA, UK, Switzerland and Pakistan. 

In his private practice at MPH, he has particular interest in face lifts, rhinoplasties and Breast and body procedures. In NHS, he is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with special interest in Breast reconstruction at the Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester .

Mr. Ashfaq earned his medical Degree from Pakistan. He was then trained in Plastic Surgery for five years and earned fellowship from Pakistan. He worked there, as a Consultant both in public and private sector for 6 years. He also established the first Cleft lip and palate program for children with cleft deformities in his province. He also worked in Saudi Arabia in its largest Hospital, King Faisal Hospital for Research for three months. He then went to United States for one year for Clinical Microsurgery Fellowship from University of Tennessee, Memphis, USA. He started his Career in UK in Oxford, followed by working as a Fellow in Chelmsford (Saint Andrew Center) in Hand and Breast Microsurgery and finally as a Microsurgery Fellow in Norfolk and Norwich university Teaching hospitals. He also worked as a fellow at Leeds Teaching Hospitals in Breast Microsurgery. He started his first Consultant Job in UK in Bradford Teaching Hospitals and remained there for three years. He was responsible for resuming Breast microsurgical services at Royal Stoke university hospital after a halt of 3 years since COVID and worked there for two years before starting to work at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester.  

He did Facial Aesthetic and Cosmetic Surgery fellowship in LaClinic in Switzerland where he was trained in Facelift surgery by a master in this field Dr Michel Pflug. He has also visited state of art centers for Plastic surgery in the world including Chang Gung hospital in Taiwan, Ganga hospital in India and MD Anderson and Texas children Hospitals in Houston, USA.

He actively participates in conferences and courses, to keep his knowledge upto date and to provide best evidence based solutions to his patients.

He actively contributions to medical research, authoring numerous scientific papers. He has been invited as a key note speaker and faculty for international courses. He is also actively involved in teaching of juniors especially registrars preparing them for FRCS exam.
