Exceptional Care · Personal to You
At Manchester Private Hospital, patient safety, clinical quality and continuous improvement are central to the way we provide care. We believe patients should have access to clear and meaningful information before choosing a hospital, clinic or surgical team.
Our outcomes and safety data helps us monitor the care we provide, identify areas for improvement and support patients in making informed decisions about their treatment.
This page summarises our Clinical Performance and Patient Safety Data for the period:
1st December 2025 to 31st May 2026
Our Commitment to Transparent Reporting
We take a transparent approach to reviewing and publishing care outcomes. This supports our ongoing commitment to patient safety, clinical governance and service improvement.
We report activity and performance information to external organisations, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN).
You can view externally published information for our hospitals through:
- Manchester Private Hospital – Care Quality Commission
- London Private Hospital – Care Quality Commission
- Manchester Private Hospital – PHIN
- London Private Hospital – PHIN
These independent platforms help patients review hospital information, consultant profiles and healthcare performance data.
Patient Feedback
Patient feedback is one of the most important ways we review and improve our services. We actively encourage patients who have undergone surgery with us to share their experience, so we can understand what we are doing well and where improvements may be needed.
For the reporting period:
98% of patients who responded to our survey said they would recommend us to their family and friends.
This feedback reflects the dedication of our surgeons, nurses, theatre teams, patient coordinators and aftercare staff, who all work together to provide a supportive patient journey.
Post-Operative Surgical Site Infections
Monitoring surgical site infections is an important part of clinical governance and patient safety. We record and review reported post-operative infections to help identify trends, support learning and maintain safe standards of care.
For the period 1st December 2025 to 31st May 2026, we recorded:
35 reported Surgical Site Infections (SSI), representing an overall infection rate of 3.97%.
For context, the national average hospital-acquired infection rate is 4.7%.
Reported Surgical Site Infections by Post-Operative Timing
| Post-Operative Period | Reported SSI Cases |
|---|---|
| Less than 14 days | 10 |
| 14 to 28 days | 9 |
| 29 to 35 days | 7 |
| More than 35 days | 9 |
| Total | 35 |
We continue to review infection data as part of our commitment to safe surgical care, infection prevention and continuous improvement.
Surgical Activity
During the reporting period, Manchester Private Hospital recorded the following surgical activity:
| Surgical Activity Measure | Number |
|---|---|
| New surgical cases | 881 |
| Revision cases | 60 |
| Returns to theatre | 5 |
Revision cases represented 6.37% of total surgical activity based on the supplied reporting figures.
A return to theatre means a patient required an unplanned additional theatre procedure after surgery. These cases are reviewed carefully as part of our governance and safety processes.
